The highlight of my year hands down would be going to Disney World and experiencing it for the very first time with my two favorite people. My partner had also never been to Disney World so we all were very excited to spend 3 magical days exploring a new place of wonders during the week of my birthday.

My daughter Elena was very excited about the plane ride and was very good for both flights, she didn't complain at all and mostly just looked out the window or took naps when she got bored.
Our hotel was the BEAUTIFUL Coronado Springs (located near the Animal Kingdom so we went there the first day) and although we did enjoy our stay and the food at the resort our ONLY major complaint was that we could only get to the parks via the buses so we were a tad annoyed with the wait and having to ride a bus and a train in order to get to certain places we wanted to visit. If you have the money I would suggest the MinnieVan Lyfts which we did use on my birthday because I was a little overwhelmed trying to do everything I wanted in one day.

Magic Kingdom was the second park we went into after Animal Kingdom and honestly we stopped caring about seeing anything else after visiting this park because it had EVERYTHING I wanted to see all in one place, plus we figured we'd be back at some point with our newly gained experience under our belts and explore more later.

All in all our trip was more than we expected, Disney did seem like it was a little hard to deal with if you have children and I'm interested in visiting on an adult only trip at some point just to see what the differences are other than the cost of things but Elena wasn't a difficult child at all, not a single complaint about her feet or tears about food, she was just happy to be there. I just wouldn't want to write Disney off as a kids theme park just yet when I obviously didn't have much of a chance to explore the adult sides to Disney World (which there are MANY) I wanted to go for my birthday but also as a special gift to my daughter since she had also always wanted to go.
Trip cost: $4000 (with tax) I had over a year to plan and save and paid for things over time so I didn't feel like the trip was expensive at all. I even said that I wouldn't mind saving more for the next trip so that we can have more wiggle room for drinks and gifts. We did NOT use a meal plan as we kinda just ate when we felt like it and shared a lot of our meals because they were shareable and large for Elena and I. I DO recommend the photo pass though because we took full advantage of the photo spots around the parks and have a lot of professional photos to share with family and friends that aren't like the poor quality ones I shared in this post.
Until next time...
